Adjustment factors for international students in United States Universities
The purpose of this research study is to identify factors that influence the adjustment and academic achievement of East Asian students in United States Universities. Adjustment challenges are primarily attributable to English language proficiency, and culture. Achievement is impacted by English language proficiency, cultural and educational background. A qualitative research design was utilized for this research study. Successful support interventions are reviewed and implications for practice are discussed for East Asian students in the United States.

Civil identification with DNA profiles databases using Bayesian Networks
In forensic identification problems it is common the use of DNA profiles. The first bases of DNA profiling data emerged in England in 1995 having raised new challenges in the context of forensic identification. In Portugal the legislation that allowed the creation of a DNA profile database was set in 2008. In this work it is intended to discuss how to properly use the databases in the recognition of bodies problem that compiles information about missing individuals which are known to belong to one or more families whose members have reported the disappearance of relatives.

The effectiveness of teaching career technical education to secondary students and its impact on career development
This paper explores five recently published articles that report on the results of the effectiveness of teaching Career and Technical Education (CTE) to secondary students and the impact that it has on their career development. These five articles have been chosen for their very distinct different views on the effectiveness of teaching CTE to secondary students and the impact that it has on their careers. This paper will explore these distinct views in order to come to a conclusion as to what effective teaching skills work to encourage students to be motivated to continue in the career path that they have stated, or become interested in that field.
It is imperative that CTE teachers are versed in multiple disciplines and therefore are more active in a student’s development. A CTE course should not be a class that the school just places a student in order to fill a gap. It is known that this happens, and the instructor must be able to connect with the student, and have a positive impact on that student.

Determination of psychological endurance perception according to some variables in sports workers
The aim of this study is to determine the psychological endurance of sports employees. For this purpose, the "Psychological Endurance Scale" for Adults developed by Friborg (2005) was applied to 151 sports employees working in Antalya, Muğla and Kutahya Youth Services and Sports Provincial Directorate. SPSS 23.0 statistical package program was used in the analysis of the data obtained from the study. In the evaluation of the data, Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk normality tests were applied after the mean, standard deviation, frequency analysis. However, it was determined that the data were not normally distributed (p> 0.05). Mann-Whitney U Test, Kruskal-Wallis Test, Chi-square Test, Pearson correlation test statistic were used at a significant level (0,05) to determine the correlation and correlation among variables. As a result, there has been no significant difference between gender, age, educational status, title, the working duration in the institution, the duration of professional working, the level of income and psychological endurance of sports employees. However, there has been a significant difference between monthly wages and Social Resources from Sub-Dimension of Psychological Endurance Level of sports employees. It can be said that the highest score of sports employees whose monthly income is 3001 Turkish lira or more shows that they have more social resources than others. There is a weak negative correlation between the title and the Family compatibility from Sub-Dimension of Psychological Endurance Level of Sports Employees. There is a weak positive correlation between the duration of professional working and the Family compatibility from Sub-Dimension of Psychological Endurance Level of Sports Employees. While the duration of the professional working of sports employees increases, the family compatibility can increase accordingly.

Nursing and constructivism: A novel pediatric ICU nurse orientation program for newly graduated nurses
The orientation process for newly graduated registered nurses (RNs) is extremely important as these RNs work to put theoretical learning into the practice of nursing care. During orientation, a new nurse begins what can be a harrowing process starting on a continuum that progresses from novice to competent nursing professional. Movement along this continuum can seem more distressing for new RNs in the pediatric critical care setting as the natures of both pediatric and critical care nursing are taken into consideration. The purpose of this paper is to detail the new graduate orientation efforts undertaken by a Southwestern United States Level One trauma center pediatric intensive care unit (PICU). Employing key elements from Benner’s Novice to Expert model, Fawcett’s metaparadigm components, and constructivist learning principles, this PICU has structured a 17-week new graduate nurse orientation program. This orientation program has succeeded in “building” and nurturing newly graduated RNs who can not only care for critically ill children, but who also have the nursing knowledge foundation to teach other new nurses.
