The experience of the new nurse educator: The first year of transition: A review of the literature
The transition from the role of nurse clinician to nurse educator has been said to be a difficult journey. A review of the literature was undertaken to investigate the causes that create such a difficult transition. The following question guided the literature review as well as the discussion of such: What is the experience of the new nurse educator during the first year of transition? And what are the recommendations, if any, to assist those taking on this transition? As the literature was reviewed common themes began to emerge such as old vs. new role, interpersonal struggles, lack of preparation and guidance, politics and social aspects. These are reviewed in detail in the following discussion. Recommendations for practice to ease the transition also began to emerge and the literature was reviewed. It became apparent that an equal partnership between schools of nursing and new nurse educators was crucial to making transitions as smooth as possible as well as successful. These are also detailed in the following discussion.

A topological approach to consumer theory
The presentation of an interesting application of mathematics in economics, more concretely of topological notions in economics: the formulation of the theory of consumer basic problem built on topology, is the main target of this work. This is made grounded on the concept of preferences relation and operationalized with optimization tools.

Analysis of phytocomponents in the methanolic extract of Justicia gendarussa Burm.f.
Justicia gendarussa Burm.f. belongs to the family Acanthaceae. In local population of West Papua, it is used as male contracetive. The objective of this study is to identify the present in the methanolic extract of Justicia gendarussa Burm.f. by GC-MS analysis. Twenty grams of the powdered plant materials are subjected to three methanol washes followed by filtration of the combined filtrate through the filter paper, and evaporate to give a final yield of 7% extract. The extract is subjected to GC-MS analysis. The GC-MS analysis of the sample is performed using an Agilent 6980N Network GC System with autosample. Data handling is done using GC-MS solution software. The identification of compounds is based on comparison of their mass spectra with those of WILEY version 8.0 Libraries. Twenty three compounds are identified. The major constituents are 2-ethylidene-1-methyl-3-phenylimidazolidine, 9,12-Octadecadienoic acid (Z,Z), and 5,6,8,9-tetramethoxy-2-methylpepero (3,4,5-jk)-9,10-dihydrophenanthracene.

The needs of high school gifted curriculum
The development of high quality curriculum is a shared vision between educators, administrators, and developers, and, as a result, large publishers, school districts, and individual teachers develop disparate curriculums. To make things more complicated, the curricular needs of gifted learners differ from those in general education settings - a point that is especially true in high school science classes. Science curriculum is particularly poised to meet the unique needs of gifted learners. The sciences can provide many opportunities including greater depth and complexity and/or accelerated materials.

The needs of high school gifted curriculum
The identification of gifted students is a complex, broad topic without a standard state or federal process. Furthermore, once students are identified there lacks a consensus in the educational community regarding how gifted students should be reassessed throughout their educational careers, if it should be done at all. This paper explores how students are identified, how and why students may regress or progress through their giftedness from elementary through secondary school, and why reassessment is necessary. The regression and stagnation topics of diminishing motivation, the need for adult connections, mentoring, counseling and reasons for gifted dropouts are discussed as well as the ways gifted programs can encourage student growth through motivation, the use of technology, and effective interventions.

Controlling effort of lahar flow in Sinabung Volcano
The Sinabung Volcano that has been inactive for 400 years suddenly erupted on 29 August 2010. This activity kept going until November 2010. After being idle for a while, Sinabung was back to be active on 15 September 2013. The fluctuating activity was going on until November 2016. Recorded that from 2013 until 2016, there have been almost a thousand eruptions. For the Sinabung activity, people living around the dangerous area, such as West, South, Southeast, and East slopes, had been evacuated. The controlling effort of lahar flow by government of Karo Regency is still non-structural. One of them to forming observer volunteer team of river height, and installing ARR+ equipment with Balai Litbang Sabo Yogyakarta to support the lahar flow early warning systems based society. On the other hand, local goverment collaborates with BWS Sumatera II to implement the structural lahar flow control. In 2017, few sabodams are going to be built in Lau Bekerah 1 River, Perita, and Perbaji, as an effort to protect the settlement and agricultural land on West slope. Besides, to mitigate, adapt the threat of lahar flow, and to prevent casualties and loss, it has been proposed some recomendation.

Leadership styles and personality variables: their effect on school performance
The purpose of this literature review, is to investigate the relationship between an educational leaders’ personality type and leadership style and their effect on school performance. Although leadership has been dissected and compared with personality in past literature, a scant amount of study (and information) has been conducted or is available, to support the theory of combinations of leadership styles and personality types. Multiple and current studies, have compartmentalized leadership style to transformational or transactional styles with the occasional obvious “no-fit” style to the previous to conduct relational research. Leadership is not relegated to only two styles. Styles change. Personality types, on the other hand, change in rare circumstances. Few studies have examined the variables of leadership style and personality types in current research. This literature review has the potential to lessen this gap by empirically studying these possible relationships. Implications and findings of this review could possibly identify links within existing leadership-personality literature as well as be helpful in guiding the development of future leaders at the instructional level.

Simulation in nursing education: A literature review
The use of simulation is not a novel concept in nursing education. As early as the first two decades of 20th century, the educational preparation of future nurses has involved simulation-based experiences. Current practice in health care and nursing promotes the incorporation of evidence to guide professional decisions and practice. A review of literature and studies is undertaken to explore simulation in nursing education, as well as examine the available evidence to support its continued use as a pedagogical modality or tool in undergraduate nursing programs.

Potency estimation on oxygen production of tree stage vegetation at the Himba Kahui urban forest in Palangka Raya
The research aims to (a) know the composition and structure of tree stage vegetation, (b) calculate the estimation of biomass stock, carbon and CO2 sequestration on the tree stage vegetation, (c) calculate the estimation of O2 produced from the tree stage vegetation, (d) analyze O2 supply needed by Palangka Raya residents related to the number of O2 produced by the tree stage vegetation. The research was conducted on Himba Kahui Urban Forest in Palangka Raya, located administratively at Petuk Katimpun, Bukit Tunggal and Palangka Sub-District on Jekan Raya District and also at Rungan Sub-District, Pahandut District. The object to study was the tree stage vegetation (stem diameter ≥ 20 cm), meanwhile the measurement estimation on biomass stock, carbon, and CO2 sequestration and O2 potential was worked with non destructive method using equation by Krisnawati, et. al. (2012), SNI 7724 (2011) and IPCC (2006). The result of this research indicates the number of the tree stage vegetation variants from 13 families and the dominance of Perupuk tree variant (Lophopetalum multinervium) with Important Value Index (IVI) at 36.65%. The highest vegetation density was dominated by diameter class of 25-29 cm (horizontal structure) and height class of 13-15 m dominated by vertical structure. The biomass stock, CO2 sequestration and O2 potential production of tree stage vegetation is 39.58 ton/ha, 18.60 tonC/ha, 68.28 tonCO2/ha and 49.84 tonO2/ha respectively. The need of O2 supply for Palangka Raya residents in 2014 was 217.82 tonO2/day or 217.820 kgO2/day and can be supplied by the O2 produced by the tree stage vegetation at Himba Kahui City Forest in Kota Palangka Raya.
